TECHNOLOGY MINISTRY TEAM

The Church Tech Team Mission Statement

The goal of the church tech team is to provide an environment worthy of the worship of Jesus Christ.  We agree this goal is best accomplished by ministering to the technical, physical, and spiritual needs of those who have entrusted God’s Word to us so we may deliver its message to the hearts and ears, and eyes of the body of Christ.

Media Ministry Overview

Audio, Video, and Lighting must be in balance, complementing each other

  • Ministry Goal:  Providing an environment conducive to the worship of Jesus Christ

  • Ministry Training:  Developing a clear understanding of audio, video, and lighting concepts

  • Ministry Driver: Excellence is Important

Mission Statement Considerations

Many areas of life need to relate the phrase: “everything in moderation.”

This also pertains to the application of technical systems in the church.

Do not overuse technology.   Allow it to enhance and not distract.

Audio, Video and Lighting critically apply in that objective.   If the people in the crowd are thinking about how cool or maybe not so cool the dancing lights or flashy video are, then we are defeating the purpose of their use in the church.

God should be the only one getting the glory!

Why Excellence is Important in the Worship Service

Most people today are surrounded by excellence. Large venue concerts often sound great. Television dramas have an excellence in their production values. Filmmakers and record producers are constantly tweaking their products and consistently deliver excellent results. I know there are many exceptions, but I hope you get my point.

For someone to walk into a church and not experience excellence only reinforces the subtle and dangerous notion that church has nothing to do with the rest of their lives. It’s just something we do on Sunday.

When applied to today’s culture, excellence is a necessary component of relevance.
